{the lost sheep}

favoriteTHINGS Friday
Several months ago Paige made this little sheep in preschool.  She came home and told me the story this way in her sweet little voice: “…the sheep was lost but the Shepard found him and took him home and helped him…he loved it (the sheep) and he slept near it and he called all his friends and they had a big party for it!” I love that she is starting to get these concepts about the Bible and the nature of the Lord. God is our Shepard and we are all the lost sheep (sometimes we feel so darn lost). She is beginning to understand how much God loves her {that she is like His little sheep} and that He will always look for her when she is lost and care for her and take her in no matter how lost she is. Here is what the bible says about this story.
The Parable of the Lost Sheep
  LUKE 15: 1 Now the tax collectors and sinners were all gathering around to hear Jesus. 2 But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law muttered, “This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.”
   3 Then Jesus told them this parable: 4 “Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? 5 And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders 6 and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.’ 7 I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.
My prayer & hope is that if you are feeling lost you can take refuge in Him.
He cares for you and He will gladly search the world over to find you and take you in His arms!
