ten on ten {june 2014} via my iphone

Tuesday was a crazy, busy day! Doctor visits, book study, gymnastics & puting away all our fun baby shower gifts, last week of school…wow-eee! So I took the easier route for 10 on 10 and took my pictures with my iphone. Some of them turned out better than others. I loved that most of them had a blue hue {signs of baby boy are everywhere} and my favorite is this first one of my belly!

ten on ten {april 2014}

So last week it was time for 10 on 10 {a chance to take ten pictures of beautiful things in my everyday life, on the tenth of the month} and unfortunately it was such a busy day that I didn’t even know it was the 10th until about 9:30 PM when I sat down to work on my computer. So I took my ten pictures on the 11th instead. You can forgive that, right? It was also a busy day but allowed me to capture many of the fun, small, divine little parts of my life.

So here is my 10 on the 11th!

november {ten on ten} a full HARVEST

DSC_1031 DSC_1047 DSC_1062 DSC_0057 DSC_0073 DSC_0107 DSC_0110 DSC_0119 DSC_0211 DSC_0214

We had a simple & quiet Sunday. Grant was sick again and so we had a lazy morning and afternoon full of crafts and some garden work {I cannot take credit for garden work…only enjoying the fruit of Aaron’s labor}. We had a delicious dinner at Grammy’s with Fifi and Uncle Drew and walked home late knowing we would get to sleep-in today. This month’s 10 on 10 had a prompt {A Full Harvest} that I loved. Here is how Rebekah explained the concept behind a full HARVEST: The idea that during the harvest we work relentlessly harvesting and celebrating the things we have been cultivating throughout the year. Now I don’t mean to get to deep on you here but I have in mind the idea of capturing the things around you that make your heart so full because of the work and toil and faith you have put in. What bounty are you most grateful for because you have committed to the deep, for the long haul work?

In my photos taken yesterday I noticed a theme: HANDS. We have worked hard in our marriage and to raise kids who love each other and God and to cultivate a happy family life with our extended families. I love all the HANDS that it takes to do that. Little hands that work together {brother and sister who are best friends}. The hands that love to make creative beauty in my home and all  around me. The little hands that love me even when I yell, that are growing too quick and will not make little Turkey crafts forever. My hands that love to create and love to be wrapped around warm drinks on cool days {in sickness and in health…in grief and celebration}. Hands that work and cultivate a small bounty in our tiny yard. The hands that have stayed faithful in marriage and that I have held tight {through hard fights or long nights with sick babies or tears of joy & of pain}.  My mom’s hands that have prepared so many meals and poured out love upon her kids and grand-kids for so many years. I am so thankful for our little family of helping HANDS…our harvest is FULL indeed.

And today I have such a full heart!

Thanks Rebekah.

random NOVEMBER day

Hello Again. Is anyone else as busy as we seem to be? Today has been a random November day for us.

We have been a busy with chores and I am attempting to go make THIS stew from the one and only Pioneer Woman tonight. A few weeks ago I was in Kansas City with friends for a MOPS convention. It was amazing and life changing {but I have not had a chance to write about that yet}. And last weekend we were in Disneyland for our last trip of the year {more on that soon too}. We are preparing for a fun MOPS meeting {HOLIDAY HOSPITALITY 101} this week that will include a hand-out that I’m working on {hoping to post that here too soon}.

And our days seem to run along before I have a chance to catch my breath.

This month on Instagram I’m keeping up with a daily challenge of capturing my blessings {with the lovely Rebekah @ a bit of sunshine}. Rebekah’s blog is exactly what it claims to be…”a bit of sunshine” every time that I stop by. She has the sweetest family and heart for God and is incredibly talented and creative. You can find me and several others on IG under the hashtag #capturingourblessings …come join us. Hopefully I will be doing 10 on 10 tomorrow as well. I dropped the ball last month when I showed up to Paige’s school only to discover that my camera batteries were dead. I tried taking pictures on my phone all day instead but it just didn’t work out.

Like I said…life just seems to be racing on!

Hope you are enjoying the fall leaves, sipping something warm and thinking about all the good things in life that we have to be thankful for. Happy Saturday!

JULY’S {10 on 10}

So stay tuned and I sincerely hope you are enjoying your summer and that you had a lovely 10th!
