ten on ten {april 2014}

So last week it was time for 10 on 10 {a chance to take ten pictures of beautiful things in my everyday life, on the tenth of the month} and unfortunately it was such a busy day that I didn’t even know it was the 10th until about 9:30 PM when I sat down to work on my computer. So I took my ten pictures on the 11th instead. You can forgive that, right? It was also a busy day but allowed me to capture many of the fun, small, divine little parts of my life.

So here is my 10 on the 11th!

november {ten on ten} a full HARVEST

We had a simple & quiet Sunday. Grant was sick again and so we had a lazy morning and afternoon full of crafts and some garden work {I cannot take credit for garden work…only enjoying the fruit of Aaron’s labor}. We had a delicious dinner at Grammy’s with Fifi and Uncle Drew and walked home late knowing we would get to sleep-in today. This month’s 10 on 10 had a prompt {A Full Harvest} that I loved. Here is how Rebekah explained the concept behind a full HARVEST: The idea that during the harvest we work relentlessly harvesting and celebrating the things we have been cultivating throughout the year. Now I don’t mean to get to deep on you here but I have in mind the idea of capturing the things around you that make your heart so full because of the work and toil and faith you have put in. What bounty are you most grateful for because you have committed to the deep, for the long haul work?

In my photos taken yesterday I noticed a theme: HANDS. We have worked hard in our marriage and to raise kids who love each other and God and to cultivate a happy family life with our extended families. I love all the HANDS that it takes to do that. Little hands that work together {brother and sister who are best friends}. The hands that love to make creative beauty in my home and all  around me. The little hands that love me even when I yell, that are growing too quick and will not make little Turkey crafts forever. My hands that love to create and love to be wrapped around warm drinks on cool days {in sickness and in health…in grief and celebration}. Hands that work and cultivate a small bounty in our tiny yard. The hands that have stayed faithful in marriage and that I have held tight {through hard fights or long nights with sick babies or tears of joy & of pain}.  My mom’s hands that have prepared so many meals and poured out love upon her kids and grand-kids for so many years. I am so thankful for our little family of helping HANDS…our harvest is FULL indeed.

And today I have such a full heart!

Thanks Rebekah.

september {ten on ten} & a photo shoot {from swenson style}

Finally getting around to posting my pictures from Tuesday’s {ten on ten}.

But first I have to show you a few pictures from a photo shoot that my friend Jessica just did with my kids. She just took an online course with Under the Sycamore and wanted some practice. I think she should consider making this a side job…don’t you? I’m amazed. I would love to take this class someday! We chose props that went with the theme of Paige’s upcoming 6th birthday party {It’s a Small World} so more to come when I post about her party…but in the meantime be sure to check out more pictures and her blog HERE at Swenson Style.

swenseonstyle{the picture that paige is holding above is a favorite from a few years ago with Cori Derksen…love it}

Moving on to {ten on ten}. It was a fun and full day but also consisted of me sitting on the couch for like 3 hours working on my computer with my feet up. I am really tired from running two kids around to 2 different schools everyday. I love our new  “back to school” rhythm but it’s gonna take some time to fully get used to it. I am also thrilled that MOPS is back in session for the year. I love this monthly time with other moms, a few of my friends and a meal that I can actually enjoy uninterrupted! All good things! Hope your week was great!

my first {ten on ten}

…I have admired this project for several years now…
My day ended up starting late and being very busy with kids and preschool, while my wonderful husband took care of a bunch of things around the house for us {including making an amazing stew for our friends who joined us for dinner}. I’m also working hard to get organized in the new year {this is not my strength}. Seeing a day of our life {behind the lens} is pretty fun!  If you don’t know what it’s all about check it out HERE from the lovely Rebekah @ a bit of sunshine!

P.S. I especially love seeing what my talented friend Stacy @ the bostrom blog will photograph {she’s amazing}.
